One of my staples from T.J. Maxx and Home Goods used to be foam soap. When I was lucky enough to find the right fragrance, the right decorative bottle, and the fact that it was actually foaming soap—I’d grab it on the spot. That’s a rare combination. I’m particular about colors and the overall vibe, and honestly, all three elements are hard to find together.
Eventually, I got tired of the hunt—so I started making my own.
Save 80% by turning liquid soap into foam soap—just like I did.
Here’s how:
-
First, buy a beautiful foam soap dispenser. I’ve tried a few and this is the one I like best. (You can see from the photo that I have the frosted version.)
-
Choose any liquid soap you like—just find a fragrance you love. No need to worry about matching the packaging to your bathroom decor.
-
Add five parts water and one part liquid soap, in that order.
-
Shake well.
That’s it. Homemade foaming soap for a fraction of the cost. And now I can choose any soap I want, without stressing over the packaging.
I love liquid soap because it’s efficient and cost-effective.
Foaming soap saves time. Regular soap takes longer to lather, and longer to rinse. It’s not like I’m digging in the earth or working on cars—I just want to wash my hands and move on. For everyday use, regular soap feels like overkill.
T.J. Maxx and Home Goods still carry a wide range of liquid soaps. Now, any of them can become foam.
Not revolutionary, just really satisfying.
