Clean Makeup I Love: RMS Beauty (+ Discount Code)

by Deborah Bass

I Finally Found Healthy Makeup That I Love—And I Have a Discount Code for You

I’ve spent years trying to find makeup that wouldn’t mess with my health—or my conscience.

I vet everything I use—makeup, skincare, even household products. I’ve used EWG’s Skin Deep database for years to research ingredients and spot red flags, and I love it.

So when I found something that did work—clean, flattering, and genuinely good for my skin—I knew I had to share it.

Let me introduce you to RMS Beauty. Maybe you’ve seen their founder—Rose-Marie Swift—demonstrating products on Facebook. If not, go find her. She’s unfiltered, wildly knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to watch. And she knows her stuff—she was the makeup artist behind the famous Victoria’s Secret glow.

Remember that glow? The one we all assume is reserved for 22-year-olds and good lighting?

It’s not.

It’s about illumination, not shine. And anyone can wear it.

When Sephora Let Me Down—and RMS Got It Right

I am a Sephora shopper. But before I found RMS, I had a moment that completely changed how I view Sephora. A beauty rep there recommended a product to me—even after I said I only use healthy makeup. I started to check out, but something felt off. So I asked another rep walking by if she would scan the ingredients using the app Sephora consultants use in-store.

What popped up stunned me: the product scored 10 out of 10 for unhealthiness.

As in: worst possible score.

As in: avoid at all costs.

That was the moment I realized Sephora reps don’t always understand the products they recommend—and that the “Clean” label doesn’t always mean what it implies. The signage might promote an entire section as healthy, but in reality, only a handful of products truly meet higher standards. That experience pushed me to dig deeper. I’m so glad I did. RMS has passed every test.

I’m Sharing Everything I Bought

These are my honest, unsponsored opinions. I purchased all 22 items myself.

But if you’re only going to try one thing—

Start here:

Kakadu Evening Beauty Oil

This is Rose-Marie’s signature product, and it’s become my desert island pick. The key ingredient—Kakadu plum oil—is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C on the planet. It’s designed to restore, hydrate, and brighten while you sleep. And somehow, it actually does. This is my favorite makeup find in forever. It’s absolutely delicious for your skin. I use it morning and night.

The texture is luxurious but light, and my skin drinks it in. If you want just one thing from this entire line—this is the one.

The Products I Kept: Everything in One Picture

Flatlay image showing 22 RMS Beauty makeup products, labeled with numbers 1 through 22.

Below are the same products numbered to match my photo above—along with the shades I chose and a few personal notes about each one.

1. ReDimension Hydra Powder Blush in Crystal Slipper
Officially described as a “sun-kissed buff with a hint of shimmer,” this shade lands somewhere between a pinky-neutral and a warm glow. It gives a soft, natural flush—never chalky, never sparkly. Just healthy color with a light radiance. An easy everyday choice that goes with everything.

2. ReDimension Hydra Powder Blush in Maiden’s Blush
Described by RMS as “soft cinnamon sparked with sweet pink,” this shade is richer than your average blush—warm, with just a hint of playful brightness. It adds instant life to the face without being overpowering. I reach for this when I want a little extra definition without going full bronzer.

3. ReEvolve Natural Finish Liquid Foundation (shade for me: 00)
Described by RMS as “a silicone-free, skincare-infused daily wear liquid foundation that provides medium coverage with a natural finish.” I’ve found it to be exactly that—smooth, breathable, and skin-enhancing. It blends effortlessly and doesn’t settle into lines. A little goes a long way—seriously, a pea-sized amount gives full coverage.

For me, it feels a bit heavy for everyday wear (better suited for special occasions), so I mostly use it as a spot concealer. And in that role, it’s perfect.

4. RMS SunCoverup Super Tint SPF 50 (Shade: Ivory)
Light coverage meets serious skincare. This evens skin tone while feeling like a serum—hydrating, smoothing, and sun-protective. With just one active ingredient, it’s as clean as it gets for sunscreen. And it feels lovely. I always thought I couldn’t wear tinted products because they didn’t offer enough coverage, but this one changed that. I use it daily—either on its own (so dewy!) or as a base layer under the liquid foundation above.

5. Lip2Cheek in Beloved
This bright poppy red looks bold in the pot—but on the skin, it’s surprisingly wearable. Rose-Marie created this exact shade to give Victoria’s Secret models that youthful, just-pinched glow. And it works.

I hesitated at first—it felt too bright—but with the right application, it melts in beautifully. The trick? Gently tap your finger to the surface, lift, then tap once onto the apple of your cheek. It blends like a dream and instantly wakes up your whole face.

6. RMS Beauty Pencil Sharpener
A smart little tool with two blades—perfect for RMS eye and lip pencils. Compact, easy to clean, and it catches the shavings. I use it for both my lip liner and eye liner pencils. (Included with products.)

7. Straight Line Kohl Eye Pencil (Shade: HD Black)
Soft but defined. It glides on like butter and smudges beautifully when I want it to, thanks to the attached smudger. So cool.

8. Straight Up™ Volumizing Peptide Mascara
My favorite clean mascara. It’s the only one that rivals my longtime favorite—L’Oréal Voluminous. It lifts, defines, and adds real volume without smudging or flaking.

9. RMS Skin2Skin Powder Blush Brush
Full, fluffy, and perfectly shaped for RMS’s domed products. Rose-Marie herself uses this with both the blushes and the Hydra Dew Luminizer. It blends without over-blending and fits just right. Bonus: it comes with a soft cover, so it travels beautifully.

10. Eyelights Cream Eyeshadow in Strobe (plus RMS tube key)
A cool, silvery-taupe shimmer that adds dimension without going full metallic. It catches the light in a subtle, elevated way—perfect for everyday wear. I wear this almost everyday. It’s just so easy and neutral—and lightening fast to apply once you get the hang of it.

I was hesitant at first—cream eyeshadow felt unfamiliar after years of using powders. But after watching several Facebook videos from Rose-Marie and RMS fans, I gave it a go. Now? I’m hooked. It’s actually easier than layering multiple powder shades. Just dab it on your lid, swipe up, and blend fast—it sets quickly. But once it’s dry, it stays put. No creasing, no fading. I’m seriously loving these products. Also pictured: RMS’s tube key—a little metal tool that helps you squeeze every last drop from the Eyelights tubes. Smart. There is a lot of product in each tube. I won’t be using the tube key for a long while, but I’m glad it’s here when I need it (included with purchase).

11. RMS Everything Eye Polish Brush (30E)
Designed to pair with the Eyelights Cream Shadows, this brush has a domed, flexible tip that fits the lid perfectly. It blends cream formulas without absorbing too much product—and it gives a more diffused, professional finish than fingers alone.

12. Eyelights Cream Eyeshadow in Moondust
A soft, elegant shimmer that’s understated but dimensional. Perfect for a one-swipe lid, layered with deeper shades, or dabbed lightly to highlight the center of the lid or inner corners. Smooth, blendable, and endlessly wearable.

13. Eyelights Cream Eyeshadow in Blaze
Officially described as a rich bronze with golden undertones—but to me, it leans more plum. It brings depth and glow in one swipe, perfect for a smoky eye (my favorite) that doesn’t feel heavy. I love it smudged along the upper or lower lash line or worn all over the lid. It also layers beautifully over the Cashmere Matte shade Wildflower.

14. Cashmere Matte Eyelights Cream Eyeshadow in Wildflower
A soft lilac with a smooth matte finish—part of the RMS Cashmere Matte line. It’s cooler and brighter than most shades in the collection, but still grounded and wearable. I like pairing it with Blaze to add depth. Not cutesy, not flashy—just a fresh wash of color that feels modern and easy.

15. Kakadu Luxe Cream
Hydrating, skin-smoothing, and packed with nourishing ingredients. I use it at night or as a glow-boosting base under makeup. Sometimes I wear it alone, sometimes layered with the Kakadu oil. Like so many RMS products, it’s incredibly versatile.

16. Kakadu Beauty Oil
This. Is. The. One.
Infused with antioxidant-rich botanicals and Kakadu plum oil—nature’s most potent source of vitamin C—this oil feels like silk and leaves my skin radiant. I started by using it full strength (no dilution) for the first few days, and my skin drank it in. Within a week, it felt deeply hydrated.

Now I apply it just as Rose-Marie teaches: I add a bit of water to my hands, rub them together, and pat that moisture into my face, neck, and décolleté. Then I warm four or more drops of the oil between my palms and massage it into my skin. It’s a twice-daily ritual I genuinely look forward to—and people are noticing. Three times this week, someone asked what I’m doing or what I’m using. I hope they know they made my day! 🌷 (And I hope this post makes yours.)

17. RMS Luminizing Powder Quad
Four soft, luminous shades that catch the light without ever looking frosty. Once again, Rose-Marie has created a product that adds radiance—not glitter. It’s truly perfected.

This quad is perfect if you’re unsure which luminizer works best for your skin tone—I wasn’t either. I’ve used all four shades and love how naturally they melt into the skin. Just a couple of dabs in the right spots, and the whole look pulls together.

Want to see it in action? Check out how Rose-Marie applies it on her Facebook page. She makes it look effortless—but she’s precise. You’ll notice how little she uses, and exactly where it goes.

18. ReDimension Hydra Dew Luminizer in Prosecco Fizz
A warm, golden glow in one swipe. I use it on my cheekbones, lids, the bridge of my nose, even my chin—it instantly brightens everything.

Watch Rose-Marie on Facebook and you’ll see: she uses just the tiniest amount, but she puts it almost everywhere. That’s the magic. It’s not about shimmer—it’s about light.

19. Eyelights Cream Eyeshadow in Halo
A soft mauve-pink with a satin glow. It adds a gentle wash of color—just enough to brighten the eye without overpowering it. Romantic, wearable, and surprisingly versatile.

20. Lip Shine in Shade: Adrianna
A sheer crystal shimmer—glassy and luminous without glitter. It gives your lips a healthy, hydrated look with just a touch of light-catching glow. Beautiful on its own or layered over any lip color for added dimension. Clean, classic, and effortless.

21. Legendary Serum Lipstick in Mae
A delicate, just-kissed pink nude with cool undertones. Creamy, buildable, and hydrating—it gives you that “my lips but better” effect without feeling heavy or too done. The color feels polished but soft, and the finish has just the right amount of natural sheen.

22. Go Nude Lip Pencil
A smooth, creamy pencil in the perfect neutral nude. It defines without harsh lines and layers beautifully under gloss or lipstick. Long-lasting, non-drying, and effortless to apply—this has officially earned a permanent spot in my makeup bag.

In fact, I bought two: one for my bathroom, and one for my purse. I had given up on lip liners years ago, but this one changed my mind. One of my favorite combos? I line my lips, rub them together to blend, and top them with the Lip Shine in Adrianna. The result: the most natural-looking lip color I’ve found. My lips, but better.

About the Founder: Rose-Marie Swift

Rose-Marie Swift has worked as a professional makeup artist for decades, with credits in Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar. But she’s perhaps best known for creating that fresh, radiant glow worn by Victoria’s Secret models.

After facing her own health issues—possibly linked to prolonged exposure to conventional cosmetics—she launched RMS Beauty to create makeup that’s safe, clean, and designed to enhance skin at any age.

Her tutorials are worth watching—especially if you want to see her signature moves. No fluff, no contour kits. Just smart, effective tricks for real faces.

A Quick Word About Expired Makeup

Because healthy makeup deserves a healthy shelf life.

Old makeup can harbor bacteria, irritate your skin, or stop working altogether. Here’s a quick guide on when it’s time to let go:

  • Mascara: Replace every 3 months

  • Liquid foundations & concealers: 6–12 months

  • Lipsticks & glosses: Up to 2 years

  • Cream products: 12–18 months

  • Powders: Usually 2 years with clean brushes

If something smells off, separates oddly, or feels different—it’s probably time. Better to part with it than risk your skin.

If You’re Curious (and want a discount)

I highly recommend booking a free consultation with an RMS Beauty expert. I had two 45-minute sessions via video chat, and both were fun and incredibly helpful. Ana, my consultant, walked me through shades, textures, and application tips—it felt like chatting with a knowledgeable friend.

But if you’d rather skip straight to shopping, I do have a discount code you’re welcome to use. Click here to get $20 off your first RMS order. (If you try it, you’ll save $20 on your first order—and I’ll receive a credit too.)

I receive a small product discount as a thank-you for sharing, but this post isn’t sponsored—and these opinions are truly my own.

Whether you start with one Lip2Cheek or go full-face like I did, you’ll feel the difference when something healthy also happens to be beautiful.

I’m not a beauty blogger. I’m just someone who found something worth sharing. I hope it inspires you to look and feel your best.

Cheers to a healthy glow! ❤︎
