Here comes the sun, and I say it’s all right.”
—The Beatles
This week springtime is officially upon us. There’s much to be thankful for.
Springtime signals growth, renewal, and hope.
After such an unprecedented year, these attributes feel more profound than ever.
I bought red tulips from Trader Joe’s (they have the best flowers) to celebrate and they just make me so happy! Here they are below, wide open to reveal, in nature’s stunning design, their black seeds.
And what are seeds, if not growth and renewal—hope for the future?
I placed the tulips in several places in my home so no matter where I am, they make me smile. They are especially beautiful when the sun is low and shines a spotlight on them though the window.
Aren’t they beautiful?
Despite spring’s welcoming, I’m still wearing my UGG® boots and my hoodie (things I love). It may be sunny, but the cold weather still lingers.
In my last post, I talked about my love—or is it an obsession?—for my UGG® boots. Now that warm weather is on the way, it’s a great time to buy some for they are sure to go on sale. The best bet is to get on the mailing list at UGG® to learn of any discounts. They are few and items sell out fast. The boots are a bit pricey, so discounts can be substantial.
That’s how I scored these lovelies below. They have a bit more bling than I’d usually choose, but this year bling felt appropriate. Even Ron loves these—a first for him.
I rationalized adding these boots to my collection as “slippers” as they are shorter than my other boots, but honestly, I wear them every waking moment. All day. Everywhere.
And here I am, rambling about my UGG® boots again! You should know, I receive no compensation nor perks in any way for my consistent rants.
I’m simply a raving fan.
And I just know that if you haven’t worn them, you are missing out on a great pleasure.
Soon, I’ll have to stow them for sandals, because…springtime!
The wild birds know what’s up. They are in a frenzy at the bird feeder.
They sing louder and more fanciful. They too, it seems, are excited for the seasonal change.
Speaking of change, my son Brandon visited this weekend and while we still wore our masks and kept our social distance outside by the fire, it’s the first time seeing him outside of Zoom and Discord in a year. Oh, how wonderful it was to see him in person. Soon, we will all get vaccinated and be able to hug.
Remember those?
Hugs are such a simple sentiment, and yet, I miss them profoundly.
Hugs are the universal medicine.”

So, here’s a virtual hug to all of you, my friends.
Stay safe. Stay hopeful.
